Not necessarily. A security door resists being forced, but if the lock cylinder is vulnerable it can be manipulated without touching the door itself. Door reinforcement and cylinder protection are complementary.

The cylinder is the part you insert your key into. It operates the lock and can be reached from outside the door.

Picking means manipulating the cylinder pins one by one with thin tools. Bumping uses a specially cut key that is struck to make all the pins jump at once. Both are discreet and leave few traces.

Loky is placed on the inside of the door. It holds the key head (“Slot” model) or the cylinder's thumb-turn (“Knob” model) in a non-opening position and anchors on the handle, so the cylinder cannot be turned from outside.

No: Loky goes on in a few seconds, without tools, drilling or any change to your door, and comes off just as easily.

Loky is designed for euro-profile cylinder locks. Three choices define the right model: the shape (curved or oblong, depending on your handle), the size (25 or 32 mm) and the inside closing type (key or thumb-turn). The “Range” page helps you choose.

The “Slot” model fits on the head of a key left in the lock on the inside. The “Knob” model fits cylinders with a thumb-turn on the inside.
